Towards crack-resistant nanoparticle-based latex films

Synthetic latex films are frequently used in a variety of industries, but they frequently include harmful additives to increase their potency. Researchers recently created a new class of latex films made of acrylic nanoparticles that have been crosslinked with rotaxane. These films are easily recyclable, have excellent crack-propagation resistance without the use of additives, and have remarkable mechanical properties, opening the door for more environmentally friendly materials.
