Acta Materia Medica (2023). DOI: 10.15212/AMM-2023-0021″> By obstructing the packaging of viral RNA, N – 17 may prevent SARS-CoV – 2 replication and transcription. It also exhibits nanomolar activity against the HCoV – OC43 and SRS – CoV-2 viruses. N-17 is a potential inhibitor of this nucleocapsid protein. Acta Materia Medica ( 2023 ) is credited. Since 2020, severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2( SARS-CoV-2 ) has spread throughout the world. The nucleocapsid ( N ) protein is essential to the survival of SARS-CoV-2.
The authors of an article that was published in Acta Materia Medica have developed a technique for screening N protein inhibitors using microscale thermophoresis assays to find potential anti-SARS-CoV-2 agents. A diphenylheptane with outstanding inhibitory activity was found to be 1, 7 – bis ( 4 hydroxyphenol ), 1, 4, 6, 6, and 1 ( N – 17 ).
