According to a recent study led by Kenneth Furton of Florida International University and published in the journal PLOS ONE, it is possible to predict someone’s sex using the profile of scent compounds on their hand.

Dogs have long been used in to accurately identify and locate suspects based on their . However, despite the fact that the field’s evidence of human scent is well-established, scientists haven’t made much headway in their laboratory analyses of individual scent profiles.

  1. I knew it! Ever since my wife started seeing her boyfriend, I could tell her hand odor was shrouded by another man’s musk. While it did turn me on a little, that concern is for another day.
