‘Revolutionary’ research discovers new cause of cancer coming from inside us

The activity of circular RNAs, a poorly understood family of genetic fragments found in the body, has been found to be significantly more closely linked by cancer researchers to an individual’s risk of developing cancer. According to a recent study, many of us have specific circular RNAs that can cling to the DNA in our cells and cause DNA mutations known as oncogenes, which lead to cancer.
